Frequently asked questions
How can I completely reset my training?
Click the button below to start from scratch. This will erase all your statistics and progress, while keeping your personal settings.

How do I enable daily reminders?
Simply turn on the switch below to receive a notification each evening when your Daily Test is ready. You can enable or disable it at any time according to your preferences.

Are the test questions official?
No. The questions on CivicLearn are educational simulations designed to reflect the spirit, difficulty, and main themes of the Life in the UK test. They are not taken from any government source. Official test questions are not publicly released by UK authorities.
What is the difference between the test modes?
CivicLearn offers several training modes adapted to different needs:
  • Test Simulation: Mirrors the official test format (24 questions, timer, results at the end).
  • Quick Test: 5 random questions, no time limit, instant correction.
  • Custom Test: You choose one or more topics. This mode is adaptive: questions repeat until all are answered correctly.
  • Common Traps: Targeted practice focusing on the most frequent mistakes, without a timer.
How does the progressive mode work?
Progressive mode does not stop after a fixed number of questions. It automatically repeats incorrectly answered questions until all are mastered. When none remain, a message appears: “All mastered 🎉”.
Why do some tests show “Restart” or “Review mistakes” buttons?
These buttons appear only in non-progressive tests (such as the Simulation). The test ends once all questions are answered, and you can then review mistakes or start a new attempt.
Which mode should I use to prepare effectively?
For a complete preparation:
  • Start with the Custom Test to build solid knowledge by topic.
  • Use the Quick Test for light daily revision.
  • Finish with a Test Simulation to assess your level under real conditions.
In “Reading Assistance” mode, why does the voice sound foreign?
CivicLearn uses your browser’s built-in text-to-speech system. Normally, English text is read using an English (UK or international) voice. If your device does not have an appropriate English voice installed, it may fall back to another accent.

To improve this, install an English voice in your device’s accessibility or speech settings, then reload the CivicLearn page.
How is the Life in the UK test simulation graded?
The simulation follows the official Life in the UK test format.

To pass, you must answer at least 75% of the questions correctly within the allotted time.

There are no mandatory topics that must be answered perfectly. All questions are weighted equally, and your result is based solely on your overall score.

This grading method reflects the real Life in the UK test and is applied consistently in the simulation.
What is the “Common Traps” section?
This section groups questions that users most often answer incorrectly. It helps you focus on weak points and prepare more efficiently before attempting a full simulation.
